Disparate Beings

Three artists, Moon (B & B) and Stuart (E) collaborate in interdisciplinary practice, arts, composition, science communication and programing to merge their interests and perform ‘Disparate Beings’ – an interactive multimedia installation.

Disparate Beings

Unfamiliar elements clash with spatial remnants of human existence... a surreal immersion of disparate boids, emergent in life like behaviour and explorative ‘simple rules’ interaction.

Boid movement sound (or voice) and long musical phrases create the metaphorical air upon which the boids 'breathe'.

In this case we used the rules developed for modelling flocking by Craig Reynolds (1986) which are - coherence, alignment and separation.
